From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

It has been a long while since we heard anything from Justin Vernon. Since the release of his second album under the Bon Iver name, new music has been sparse, the singer occasionally popping up on Kanye West tracks and other collaborations.

Recently, it was announced Vernon and James Blake would be touring together under their Fall Creek Boys Choir name, renewing interest in the Wisconsin artist.

A previously unreleased track, dating back to 2009 or 2010, has since found its way onto the internet.

In the warm up to his Eaux Claires Music & Arts Festival, a limited-edition cassette was released, featuring the track, titled “Haven, Mass”. Listen below.

Vernon confirmed the track was Bon Iver B-Side on his Twitter account ‘blobtower’, writing in response to a fan that it was a “Very old song, 2009, 10”.

The 34-year-old will host his second Eaux Claires Music & Arts Festival on the 12-13 August in Eau Claire, WI.
