Bobby Brown has opened up about the role Nick Gordon played in both the deaths of Whitney Houston and their daughter, Bobbi Kristina Brown.
Speaking on Red Table Talk, the former New Edition performer alleged that Bobbi Kristina Brown's ex-fiancé Nick Gordon provided the drugs that led to both her and her mother's deaths, telling hosts Jada Pinkett Smith, Willow Smith, and Adrienne Banfield-Norris he believed there was "foul play".
“[Gordon] was the only one there for both situations with my ex-wife and my daughter and they both died the exact same way," he told the hosts, claiming that Gordon most likely supplied them with the drugs that led to their fatal bathtub accidents.
“I think he was more so a provider of party favours to them,” he said.
In February 2012, Whitney Houston was found submerged in a bathtub at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, where she was later pronounced dead. At the time, the local coroner's office reported that her death was caused by a combination of heart disease, drowning, and cocaine use.
The couple's daughter, Bobbi Kristina, died three years later in an eerily similar manner. She was found facedown in a bathtub in her Georgia home in 2015, and later died in hospice care at the age of 22. According to the autopsy report, multiple drugs were found in her system, including narcotics and prescription drugs, including marijuana, alcohol and medications used for sedation or to treat anxiety.
A civil suit filed by the conservator of Bobbi Kristina Brown’s estate alleged that her partner Gordon had physically abused her and had taken a significant amount of money from her without permission.
The suit was later amended to allege that Gordon “gave Bobbi Kristina a toxic cocktail rendering her unconscious and then put her face down in a tub of cold water causing her to suffer brain damage”.
In November 2016, a judge ordered Gordon to pay more than $36 million in damages; no criminal charges were filed.
Gordon died in 2020. The cause of his death was ruled as heroin toxicity, according to the autopsy report.
