From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference. After the surprise release of ‘Formation’, the Beyoncé rumour mill went into overdrive, with hundreds of people eagerly expecting an album to suddenly appear any minute now.
Thanks to Hits Daily Double (via Dazed), we’ve now got word that Queen B is apparently in talks with Sony Music to drop her sixth album in April, the same month she embarks on her ‘Formation’ tour.
Adding further fuel to the fire is Beyoncé’s part-time producer Noel ‘Detail’ Fischer (Drunk in Love) who has been posting pictures on Instagram of himself and the singer.
That’s not all; apparently the 34-year-old is working on another album, one with husband and rapper Jay Z - something that has long been rumoured to be in the works.
While neither are officially confirmed, a new Beyoncé album really is looking more and more plausible by the hour, especially when you consider her world tour sold out in minutes, she stole the Super Bowl halftime show and hasn’t released new music in almost three years.
Numerous artists linked to the album already, including Clean Bandit (who called their time in the studio with Beyoncé “insane”), Ed Sheeran, Future (who once mentioned he was at “Jay’s place” but was actually “working with Bey”), D.R.A.M. (pictured in the studio with the singer), Naughty Boy and - strangely - Car Delevinge.
Fingers crossed a new album out in April, it might be a good month to renew that TIDAL membership.
