A man has been charged after storming the stage during Beyonce and Jay Z's show in Atlanta, US.

Associated Press reports that 26-year-old Anthony Charles Thomas Maxwell ran on stage as their On The Run II show was concluding on Saturday 25 August, approached Jay Z and made contact with him.

He was quickly stopped by the couple's back up dancers and concert security. A spokeswoman for Beyonce said that she and Jay Z were unharmed.

Mr Maxwell was initially issued a citation for disorderly conduct and released, but police have since added a charge of simple battery. He was treated for minor injuries, and spokeswoman Lisa Bender said there were no other injuries.

The couple's Sunday night show in Atlanta took place without incident, and Beyonce even made a joke about the previous night when she turned around as she walked with Jay Z off-stage as though she were looking out for any more potential stage invaders.
