Band Aid 30 to get David Guetta dance remix, says Bob Geldof
Bob Geldof asked the DJ to give 'Do They Know It's Christmas?' a makeover

David Guetta is to give Band Aid 30’s “Do They Know It’s Christmas?” a dance remix makeover after Sir Bob Geldof approached him with the idea.
The song, recorded to help fight Ebola in West Africa and released last Monday, shot straight to UK number one and was named the fastest-selling single of 2014 so far after just one day.
But this might not be the last we hear of the new track, which features One Direction, Ellie Goulding, Sam Smith, Rita Ora, Ed Sheeran and Bastille, to name but a few.
“I’m in France, I made contact with [French DJ] David Guetta, and he texted back after I asked if he was interested in the mix, and he said, ‘ye, why not’,” Geldof told The Vodafone Big Top 40. “So we’ll have the whole dance scene covered.”
Geldof also added that he hopes other versions of the remake will be released, including a “phenomenal” all-female version, an all-male one, and “individual ones with the guys who sang the whole song”, including Ed Sheeran and Sam Smith.
“I’d like that to happen. Honest to God, I’m serious,” he said. “It’s a shame if these versions don’t come out. As performances they’ll just knock you sideways.”
Expect to hear "Do They Know It's Christmas?" in your local nightclub soon.
