From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

The video for the track, directed by Hannah Lux Davis, sees Grande with her posse in a neon-drenched dream world, complete with ever-flowing champagne and all possible shades of pink.
Making use of an updated riff from The Sound of Music classic “My Favourite Things”, Grande assures us that she’s got everything she needs and wants.
“Yeah, breakfast at Tiffany’s and bottles of bubbles/ girls with tattoos who like getting in trouble,” the Sweetener musician sings. “Lashes and diamonds, ATM machines/ Buy myself all of my favorite things.”
Grande is reportedly set to headline Lollapalooza. Although the lineup won’t be confirmed until the third week of March, Variety reports that Grande has been booked for the festival.
As previously announced, she will also headline Coachella in April. It has since been confirmed that Grande will reschedule several dates on her Sweetener tour to accommodate the Coachella booking, which saw her step in as a last-minute replacement after Kanye West dropped out, reportedly over disagreements about the construction of a giant dome stage.
