From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

Earlier in the week, the song emerged on social media in which a female voice can be heard singing the lyrics: “Forget about who’s winning, baby.”
She continues: “You better hope he’ll find it in him, maybe, to forgive the sinner he’s made you.”
The Sun reports that the track is an outtake from Adele's last album 25, which was released in 2015, rather than a song from her forthcoming record.
The Independent has contacted Adele’s representatives for comment.

While little is known about Adele’s fourth album, which is expected to be released later this year, Alan Carr recently gave fans an update on the record.
“I’ve actually heard some tracks on it [and] oh my god, it’s so amazing,” the comedian said.
“The thing is… they change all the time because they’re really rough things. Everyone’s like, ‘What’s it like? What’s it like?’ But I said to her, ‘That voice, it’s like an old friend.’”
Adele also dropped a hint about the album while hosting Saturday Night Live in October after fans questioned why she wasn’t appearing as a musical guest as well.
She provided two reasons, stating: “My album’s not finished, and I’m also too scared to be both.
“I’d rather put on some wigs… have a glass of wine or six and just see what happens.”
