5 Seconds of Summer has dropped new single "Want You Back" along with a tour announcement.

The Aussie pop-punk band decided to release their first single in two years "Want You Back" a few hours early on Thursday night.

Following 18 months on the road, 5SOS members Ashton Irwin, Michael Clifford, Luke Hemmings, and Calum Hood have returned as a more mature quartet, putting out a single that is a synth-pop apology.

Since 5SOS released their Sounds Good Feel Good in 2015, they've been writing and recording their new album in L.A., which will be released later in 2018.

The band released a statement about their comeback saying, "Finally… It’s been 3 years since our last album and we are so ready to share new music with the world. After spending the last 5 years on the road since the age of 16, it was important we took time to reflect as individuals and now we’re coming back stronger and more unified than ever. These songs mean the world to us and we have held nothing back in writing and recording this album. We’ve been rehearsing a lot of the new songs live and can’t wait to get back out on tour to connect with our incredible fans."

Alongside the new song, the four-piece announced the international 26-venue 5SOS3 tour this spring.

The tour will kick off on March 20 at Debaser Strand in Stockholm and includes shows at Heaven in London (April 5), New York City’s Irving Plaza (April 12) and the Belasco Theatre in Los Angeles (April 25).

5SOS has garnered a huge fan base around the world topping the iTunes charts in 44 countries.

Their sophomore album Sounds Good Feels Good hit number one in 12 countries including the US, the UK and Australia.

Tickets for the 5SOS3 tour go on sale March 2.
