Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

Continuing on the exciting wave of new electronic artists emerging from France, here's s a r a s a r a.

Just signed to One Little Indian, she sold her record collection so she could afford the gear to begin creating her own brand of very experimental, bold dance music, inspired by the likes of LFO, Nick Cave, Bjork and Vanessa Paradis.

Her debut album a m o r f a t i is co-produced by herself and Matthew Herbert, who also mixed the record.

Check out the premiere of her track 'Euphoria' below:

Q&A with s a r a s a r a

What are you listening to at the moment?

I have eclectic tastes! I’m back to techno music these days, probably because it’s summer. I love Monoloc, Levon Vincent and Mike Denhert.

I listen to Laura Nyro when I cook, A/T/O/S (pronounce “ A Taste of Struggle) when I bike.

I listen to classical music - I love Haydn, Wagner, Malher. And always with me also, Depeche Mode, Björk, Vanessa Paradis, Massive Attack, Portishead, Thievery Corporation, Jeff Buckley.

What are you up to this summer?

There’s a lot going on. I’m working on videos this month, preparing my live shows, also working on new music already.

First gig, best gig?

My very first gig, was in a little club in France, in my hometown, in front of my classmates basically. It was for fun, I wasn’t writing my own music at that time.

I’ll play at St Giles in the Fields Church for the 21RPM Festival, October 1!

S a r a s a r a's debut album a m o r f a t i is released on 14 October 2016 via One Little Indian
