Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

Legendary American folk-rock singer Bob Dylan drops the charity holiday album, Christmas in the Heart. Also on deck for October 13: R&B singer Mario makes a bid for superstar of the genre with his fourth album, D.N.A. A selection of releases is as follows.

October 13
Bob Dylan, Christmas in the Heart
Bob Dylan's Christmas in the Heart is the American folk-rocker's first covers album of holiday songs. All US royalties from the record will be donated to Feeding America (formerly America's Second Harvest), the leading hunger-relief charity in the US. Christmas in the Heart features covers of "Must Be Santa," "Little Drummer Boy," "Winter Wonderland" and "Here Comes Santa Claus."

Mario, D.N.A.
American R&B singer-actor Mario releases his fourth studio album, D.N.A., with help from American record producers The-Dream (Rihanna) and Babyface (Madonna). Mario has long been considered the runner-up male R&B superstar of the moment, second to American R&B singer Chris Brown. Given Brown's current travails with the law (performing prolonged community service for an alleged assault), all eyes are on Mario to possibly assume the crown of R&B king with D.N.A.
