Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Also, a new face in the music blogosphere is American dream pop band Sleep Over, who just dropped a new track for their upcoming debut album.
Four Tet, the moniker of Kieran Hebden, recently reworked Radiohead's "Separator" from the King of Limbs remix series. In September he is set to release the 59th installment of London nightclub Fabric's Fabric Live mix, which will include the remixed sounds of Caribou, Burial, and Ricard Villalobos. "DJ sets from Hebden are a truly life changing event, so will be fascinating to see his Fabric Live mix come out as something a little more dancefloor-ready than his solo work," writes This Music Wins.
Austin-based psyche-pop outfit Sleep Over, fronted by vocalist Stefanie Franciotti, is releasing debut disc Forever on September 27. The band dropped the first taste from the album with a track called "Casual Diamond" that showcases the band's "enchanting, swirling, dreamy synth pop" sounds, writes blogger Bowlegs Music Reviews.
