On September 9, blogger buzz is building around American chillwave act Toro y Moi's upcoming EP, Freaking Out, set for a September 13 release. Another hot topic in The Hype Machine's most blogged artists chart is London-based rockers Yuck, who are giving their recent debut album the deluxe reissue treatment.
Fronted by Chazwick Bundick, Toro y Moi has been a hot topic in the music blogosphere since the release of the first single - a cover of Alexander O'Neal and Cherelle's "Saturday Love" - from his upcoming follow-up to Underneath the Pine. "Chad's take on this cover is, of course, upbeat," reviews blogger Indie Shuffle. "But it's also fresh, breezy, and shall I say... busy."
Recently Yuck announced that their label Fat Possum will be releasing a deluxe edition of the band's self-titled debut album in October, featuring a second disc with six new B-side tracks. The band recently dropped one of the tracks, a tune called "Cousin Corona" that features "a Sonic Youthy/Pixies bassline and a loud/quiet/loud/quiet bit that will activate any moshpit anywhere," according to blogger Stagedive.
