Your support makes all the difference.Music fans going to Glastonbury this summer can expect to see more women on the bill than in previous years, organiser Emily Eavis has promised.
Founder Michael Eavis’ daughter helps him run the legendary Somerset festival and while she is keeping the names of those playing tightly under wraps, she dropped some hints on what to expect.
“We are strong on women this year, I have to say,” she told Vice.
“There are loads of great female MCs coming through this year which is quite exciting. Little Simz and Lady Leshurr and people like that.”
Eavis added that Glastonbury will be continuing its tradition of keeping the line-up “musically as open as possible”, so another surprise like Kanye West should not be ruled out.
Kanye’s set proved divisive but Eavis has described it as one of the “bravest” sets ever seen at Glastonbury.
The Eavises confirmed last November that this year’s Glastonbury was 80 per cent booked, with headliners already sorted for 2017 too.
Glastonbury will run from 22 to 26 June at Worthy Farm.
