My Fantasy Band: Ronnie Vannucci, The Killers/Big Talk
Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Vocals - Steve Winwood
He has got to have one of the sweetest voices in rock'n'roll. When I was a little kid I was put next to a record player, and I obviously chose to put on a record with a naked girl on the cover. That turned out to be Blind Faith. Back in the day I only knew about Blind Faith, but then I discovered all these other projects that Winwood was involved with and the more I learnt, the more I was astounded.
Guitar - Prince
I'm not sure how he'll fit in with the rest of this band, but he's such a badass. I saw him play in LA and he's sort of a genius.
Bass - Jack Bruce
He was the bassist and vocalist with Cream. He really shaped my life musically.
Keyboard - Garth Hudson
I've been listening to a lot of The Band recently, and Garth Hudson was kind of the mad scientist of the group. He is an awesome keyboard player. It is almost like the instrument is an extension of him; if a keyboard or piano could grow an appendage, then it would be Hudson.
Drums - Mitch Mitchell
He's an English drummer best known for playing with The Jimi Hendrix Experience. He was such a huge inspiration for me.
