Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

Vocals - Prince
Prince is an amazing songwriter and performer. I have never seen him live but I have seen plenty of videos of him. I really hope to see him play in the future.

Guitar - Jimmy Page
I've chosen Led Zeppelin's guitarist because I've watched endless clips of him on YouTube and his guitar solos are like nothing else.

Bass - Bernard Edwards
He was the bassist for the band Chic, who are probably most famous for their song "Good Times". The Sugar Hill Gang and the Notorious B.I.G. used the bass line from "Good Times" on various tracks. He was an amazing bass player.

Keyboards - Alicia Keys
I think that Alicia would bring some diversity to the group. She's an amazing keys player. She has a lot of attitude and she plays with a lot of emotion. She's a beautiful woman.

Drums - Questlove
I'd like Questlove to play because The Roots are one of my favourite bands of all time and this is mainly because of the drum patterns. I have a lot of respect for him and I even met him after supporting him at the Forum in Kentish Town. He's a down-to-earth, really friendly, intelligent guy and an amazing drummer. His technique is amazing.

Master Shortie's single 'Dead End' is out on Monday. The album 'ADHD' is released on 27 July
