Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference. It's always ace to hang out with Josh Ostrander (Mondo Cozmo).
We invited him to the Music Box studio after a big summer of touring - and apparently after a pretty heavy post-gig party - because we love his debut album Plastic Soul.
If you haven't seen one of the band's live shows then you need to get down to one sharpish, they are as electrifying as anything we've ever seen.
Seeing Josh and James strip the songs off Plastic Soul down for Music Box was really special - Josh is a superb songwriter and the pair of them managed to make this one of the best sessions so far.

In a recent interview Josh told The Independent how he played in a bunch of different bands before landing on Mondo Cozmo.
"I paid my dues, and I couldn't be prouder of the fact that it it took this long to happen," he said. "Looking back at it now, it's almost overwhelming, the amount of work that went into writing 'Shine' and to come up with the ideas that we're doing now."
Plastic Soul, Mondo Cozmo's debut album, is out now via Island Records - he's currently on tour in the US.
