Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Opera

I saw Le Nozze Di Figaro at the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden. Not only is Mozart one of my favourite opera composers but one of my best friends from the Royal Academy of Music was playing the lead role. It was amazing to be there to support her and I loved the young, fresh, funny performance.

Films

I watched a film called Untouchable which is a French film about an unlikely friendship between two men. It’s an amazing story, incredibly heart-warming, funny with great music by Ludovico Einaudi.

Books

I have several books on the go, one of them is a thriller called Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn and the other is a lifestyle book called The Five Love Languages by Gary Chapman which is all about communication.

Television

I am hooked on Scandal, Homeland, Downton Abbey and Broadchurch. I also have recently got into Game of Thrones. I tend to get box sets for my travels.

Visual Arts

I recently went to the Monet exhibition at l’Orangerie Museum in Paris to see the large Water Lilies. I love Impressionism.
