Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

Music

I finally bought Lady Gaga's album! It is so much fun and makes me get up and dance every single time I hear a song.

Television

It's really hard keeping up with my favourite shows, as I am constantly travelling. Friends often buy me DVD sets of my favourite shows. I love "Entourage" and I think Jeremy Piven is phenomenal. My little brother texts me updates when I'm on the road and miss a show.

Films

I recently watched "The Graduate" for the first time. I can't believe it took me this long . I also saw "An Affair To Remember" with Cary Grant, and was crying my eyes out by the end. What a beautiful movie. My brother also dragged me to see "Transformers 2" over the summer.

Books

I am currently reading John Grisham's "The Broker". I am determined to get myself a Kindle, an electronic book, which will reduce the number of books I carry on long-haul flights.

Visual arts

I was in The Hague recently and visited The Mauritshuis where Vermeer's "Girl with a Pearl Earring" is housed. It's absolutely breathtaking.

'Bruch and Brahms Violin Concertos' on EMI Classics is out now
