Katy Perry surprised fans with a performance at Coachella last night, joining producer Zedd on the main stage at the US music festival.

Perry appeared to huge cheers from the crowd in Indio, California to perform her recent collaboration with Zedd, “365”.

The pop star and American Idol judge said she “used to sneak in” to the festival, adding: “I’ve been doing Coachella for about 17 years.”

Before taking to the stage she teased her performance on Twitter by telling fans to watch the festival’s live stream on YouTube.

Perry, who had earlier been spotted with fiance Orlando Bloom, tweeted: “Feel like I’ve been doing full looks at Coachella for as long as some of these people have been alive.”

The festival takes place each year over two weekends and regularly attracts some of the biggest artists to perform. This year’s headliners are Childish Gambino, Tame Impala and Ariana Grande.

Other names on the lineup include Janelle Monae, The 1975, Diplo, Billie Eilish, Mac DeMarco and Christine and the Queens.
