This election is still a dead heat, according to most polls. In a fight with such wafer-thin margins, we need reporters on the ground talking to the people Trump and Harris are courting. Your support allows us to keep sending journalists to the story.

Taylor Swift, Madonna and BTS will be among the performers at the 2019 Billboard Music Awards tonight.

Swift is set to open the show with her chart-topping new single “Me!”, a collaboration with Panic! at the Disco frontman Brendon Urie.

Madonna will team up with Colombian singer Maluma to perform “Medellin”, the lead single from her upcoming album Madame X.

Meanwhile, K-pop sensations BTS are expected to take to the stage with Halsey to sing recent hit “Boy with Luv”.

The awards ceremony will take place at Las Vegas’ MGM Grand Garden Arena, with Kelly Clarkson set to host for a second year running.

Other performers include Mariah Carey, who will receive the Icon Award, and the newly reunited Jonas Brothers.

Rapper Cardi B leads the way in nominations, with 21, narrowly missing out on a record set by Drake and The Chainsmokers in 2017, who each had 22.

She will compete in categories including for top artist, top female artist and top rap artist.
