Grain of truth

Sir: The corn circles mentioned in the Monday Review ("Cereal thrillers", 5 July) might be a portent of alarming events to come, but the general feeling here in north Wiltshire is that they owe more to overactive Young Farmers, young recruits from RAF Lyneham on exercise or enterprising farmers with an eye for cashing in on the tourist trade.
