Letter: Outstanding dross

Sir: Why do you and so many other newspapers put a television programme in a "pick of the day" feature in order only to give the writer more space to pen a protracted statement to the contrary? I'm all for giving bad programmes a good drubbing, but why not create a different column such as "dross of the day"?
