Sir: Thomas Kielinger is wrong about Lady Macbeth's inadequate nursing skills ("Get used to the meddling Germans", 7 December). In Act 1 scene 7 she says: "I have given suck, and know/ How tender 'tis to love the babe that milks me." Admittedly things do go rather downhill from then on.
