Sir: Locked out, marooned and in a muck sweat, Hunter Davies ("Hello, darling, I'm on the train", 17 May) confirms what many of us have long suspected: the mobile phone is not simply the must-have totem of poseurs, drug dealers, yuppies and the insecure young, but also of the socially and professionally inept.
