Global warming lies

Sir: Your report on global warming stated that the US emits 25 per cent of the world's CO2. In fact, of the 214 billion tonnes of CO2 entering the atmosphere each year, less than 3 per cent is man-made.

Presumably, you meant that the US emits 25 per cent of mankind's contribution. This works out at 0.7 per cent of the global total.

When it comes to putting carbon dioxide into the atmosphere, compared to Mother Nature, we're amateurs - and not even very good ones.
