Sir: In your story on ITN's plans for a 24-hour news channel (29 October), you included a claim that the audience for Channel 5 News, also produced by ITN, had "hit rock bottom" since the evening programme moved from 7pm to 6pm in March this year. The opposite is in fact the case. Since the move, the number of viewers has gone up by nearly 30 per cent and the percentage audience share has doubled.
