Sir: Your front page, together with pages 2 and 3, was full of the news that old rivalries and hatreds have (hopefully) been put aside in Ireland (3 November). At the bottom of page 8 there was the small heading "Catholic monarch ban" and the brief report that "Peers rejected calls by Lord Forsyth of Drumlean to end the 298 year ban on Roman Catholics ascending to the Throne". Good to see their Lordships are on top of current affairs and attitudes!
