IN THE land of "wannabes", the new lottery slogan "Maybe, Just Maybe" may seem rather cute. It's meant to be less direct than its predecessor "It Could be You".
In practice it is an even more disingenuous effort to promote a gamble whose odds are ridiculous and whose effect is regressive. The latest figures suggest that the punters are beginning to go off it. Maybe, just maybe, this monster is going into terminal decline.
