To celebrate the composer Jonathan Harvey's 60th birthday, the Brighton Festival is staging an ambitious production of his 1981 church opera, 'Passion and Resurrection' (Friday; 01273 706 771). Harvey composed his first works in the 1960s and has since used digital and pre-recorded sounds alongside traditional instruments. He has taught at the University of Sussex for the past 18 years
