Guy Pearce regrets making Kevin Spacey 'handsy' comments

The LA Confidential star has clarified comments his made on an Australian chat show

Guy Pearce "regrets" the shocking comments he made regarding Kevin Spacey on an Australian chat show.

The actor surprised the interviewer when branding the disgraced actor as “handsy” on the set of 1997 film LA Confidential, adding to gasps: “Thankfully I was 29 and not 14.”

The Memento star has now released a statement to the Sydney Morning Herald clarifying his comments.

“I very much understand it’s too sensitive a topic to be brushed off. I addressed and handled the situation when it took place, hence my regret at making it public now.”

The Australian outlet adds that Pearce told Fairfax Media “while he was not sexually assaulted, he was made to feel uncomfortable” by Spacey.

Chat show host Andrew Denton asked Pearce about his personal experience with Spacey who was accused of sexual misconduct by several men in the wake of the Me Too movement.

Spacey was initially accused of misconduct by Anthony Rapp who alleges that the actor made sexual advances towards him as a 14-year-old when Spacey was 26.

Just last week, more accusers came forward with Met Police investigating three fresh allegations of misconduct in London between 1996 and 2013.

Yesterday (9 July), Spacey's former House of Cards co-star Robin Wright broke her silence regarding the disgraced actor while others to have spoken candidly about Spacey's behaviour in the wake of the allegations include Joel Kinnaman and Benicio del Toro who appeared alongside the actor in 1995 film The Usual Suspects.
