A number of new PS5 games were announced tonight as part of the PlayStation reveal event, including a Harry Potter open-world game.

Hogwarts Legacy  was the biggest reveal of a showcase which also saw the announcement of Final Fantasy XVI, and a tease hinting that a new God of War game (called Ragnarok) would be released in 2021.

The Warner Bros-backed Hogwarts Legacy, long rumoured to be in the works, features many of the creatures and locations from the wizarding world conceived by JK Rowling in her hit book series.

According to its official website, Legacy will be available on PC, PS4, Xbox One and Xbox Series X consoles.

Sony also finally revealed the pricing and release date for the PS5 console, which is set to hit shelves this November.

Final Fantasy XVI , the next entry in the hit Final Fantasy series, was revealed at the start of the presentation. The game will be available exclusively on PlayStation consoles.

Fans were additionally afforded a first look at in-game footage from the upcoming Marvel sequel Spider-Man: Miles Morales.

Viewers took to social media to post their reaction to the clip, praising the astonishing next-generation graphics.

“Spider-Man looks GORGEOUS!” wrote one Twitter user.

Deathloop and Call of Duty: Black Ops - Cold War were among the other games people were able to get a better look at.
