First Call

AFTER A UK tour, which included an autumn stint in Stratford-upon-Avon, Shakespeare's "most charismatic villain" returns to the London stage in the Royal Shakespeare Company's production of Richard III. In this portrait of power politics, the challenging role of the evil king is taken on by Robert Lindsay, making his RSC debut, with the acclaimed Elijah Moshinsky, of the Royal Opera House, in the director's seat.

Last Call

ASIAN DUB FOUNDATION (right) was a close contender for this year's Mercury Music Prize thanks to its stunning album Rafi's Revenge, an exciting blend of rock/rap and techno. They might not have the great chart hits, but are certainly big on stage presence, political lyrics and a passionate vibe. Plus, the group puts its money where its mouth is: they contribute to the Liverpool Dockers Benefit Concerts, and have set up a music community workshop in their home town. Asian Dub Foundation are moving, in every way.
