Back in 1976 there was a novelty about Alan Parker's gangster musical and its cast made up of children. Time hasn't been kind: the slapstick gang violence (custard-pie splatter guns) is amusing, but the score is mediocre, the acting is poor and the underage cuteness is creepy. Jodie Foster, in the same year she starred in Taxi Driver, is an exception as the vamp Tallulah.
