From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

Oscars host Neil Patrick Harris is preparing to give his star-studded audience a treat next month with an original musical sequence written by the Frozen songwriters.

Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez are busy penning "Moving Pictures" for Harris to perform live on Sunday 22 February as millions of people watch the ceremony worldwide.

Harris announced the news on his Twitter account earlier today, confirming that the Oscar-winning duo behind "Let It Go" will not be writing "a song called 'Let It O' with a big giant Swarovski crystal O in the background".

"YouTube, get ready!" added show producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron, but further details of the performance are being kept under wraps.

The Oscars will be televised in more than 225 countries with Sky Movies Oscars broadcasting it live.
