Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

"Guns, girls, global domination - Xander cage is back" - we couldn't have said it better ourselves.

The first teaser trailer for third xXx outing Return of Xander Cage has been released and it shows that, despite the franchise's 11-year rest, the new film looks to be as high on the frantic action of 2002's original and its sequel State of the Union (2005).

Vin Diesel himself returns as the athlete-turned-National Security Agency spy alongside fellow returning cast member Samuel L. Jackson who plays NSA agent Augustus Gibbons.

Also along for the ride is Toni Collette who is clearly having the time of her life getting to utter lines such as: "We need someone who can walk into a tornado and come out the other side like it was a damned gentle breeze."

DJ Caruso (Disturbia) is directing the film which will also star an assortment of recognisable faces from the world of US television including Ruby Rose (Orange is the New Black), Nina Dobrev (The Vampire Diaries) and the Hound himself, Rory McCann (Game of Thrones).

xXx: The Return of Xander Cage will be released in 2017.
