Disney decided to get pretty self-referential with the fact it owns half the planet.
At this year's D23 convention, the studio unveiled a gargantuan property crossover is about to take place in, of all things, Wreck-it-Ralph 2 - subtitled officially as Ralph Breaks the Internet.
Entertainment Weekly described footage revealed to those in the panel's audience, which saw characters from Star Wars, Marvel, and the Disney princess films all collide on screen for the first time.
In the film, Wreck-it-Ralph (voiced by John C.Reilly) and Vannellope von Schweetz (Sarah Silverman) will leave their arcade game home and travel into the world of massive multiplayer online gameplay.
And, due to cross-promotional reasons, their journey leads them straight to OhMyDisney.com, Disney's official blog; it's here that Vanellope gets a tour of the site by digital trendsetter Yesss (voiced by Taraji P. Henson), the algorithm for a site called Buzzaholic. And it's here that we see the Disney princess escorted around by Stormtroopers, while Iron Man and Dumbo fly overhead.
The princesses will be performed by many of their original voice actors: Mandy Moore (Rapunzel), Paige O'Hara (Belle), Anika Noni Rose (Tiana), Linda Larkin (Jasmine), Kelly Macdonald (Merida), Jodie Benson (Ariel), Kristen Bell and Idina Menzel (Anna and Elsa), Ming Na (Mulan), Irene Bedard (Pocahontas), and Auli'i Cravalho (Moana).
The scene shown to audiences saw Vanellope, a princess in the arcade game Sugar Rush, get tested by the princesses to determine whether she's really worthy of being called royalty.
Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It-Ralph 2 hits UK cinemas 30 November 2018.
