Batman v Superman has yet to reach cinemas, but that hasn't stopped DC releasing tiny bits of information about future films Suicide Squad and Wonder Woman.

Details regarding the former have been appearing on the internet recently, with the first full-length photo of Jared Leto’s Joker and plot details emerging last month.

Attention has now turned - if only briefly - towards Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman, the first female-led superhero movie in ten years.

While we already know Chris Pine will be appearing in the film, directed by Patty Jenkins, The Wrap have revealed that Nicole Kidman is in negotiations to play a high-ranking Amazonian warrior alongside Gadot.

According to the report, Kidman may be playing Queen of the Amazons, and Wonder Woman's mother, Hippolyta (main photo).

Kidman recently starred in Queen of the Desert, a biographical drama about the life of Gertrude Bell.

The superhero will feature in the upcoming Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, with Aquaman also rumoured to feature in the film.

Wonder Woman will be released before the upcoming Justice League film, which will see the heroes team up to take on a currently unknown villain.

Her solo film will reach cinemas 23 June 2017.
