Speaking as a man who just watched a lightning-paced 20-minute recap on YouTube ahead of the show's return, it's fair to say that Westworld is a pretty intricate show that dishes out a lot of information which it expects you to retain perfectly week to week.

This doesn't look set to change with season 2, which arrives on 22 April, and if anything Westworld will be coming at you with an even more dense narrative.

Asked whether the cast talk to each other on set about what's going on with their characters, Dolores actor Evan Rachel Wood said: "We all pow wow a lot. Last season we didn't really talk to each other, but because there is so much to digest this season we couldn't not talk to one another.

"There were still a few things we didn't give away to each other but we definitely compared notes a lot more because it was just harder."

The show's intricacy is arguable the best and worst thing about it, but Wood is sure fans will be entertained and will be theorising more than ever.

"I think that's what the audience wants, and because part of the fun is figuring it out you know they're going to make it twice as hard this season!

"I'm excited to hear the theories because I think there's going to be quite a lot of them."
