From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

The trailer for Uncut Gems, Adam Sandler‘s new movie that scored a 100 per cent rating on Rotten Tomatoes, has been released.

Sandler portrays Howard Ratner, a jeweller in New York City’s diamond district.

“When he makes a series of high-stakes bets that could lead to the windfall of a lifetime, Howard must perform a precarious high-wire act, balancing business, family, and encroaching adversaries on all sides, in his relentless pursuit of the ultimate win,” reads the film’s synopsis.

The trailer gives a first look at Sandler in his role as Ratner, with Idina Menzel stars as his partner Dinah Ratner.

Julia Fox, Kevin Garnett, Eric Bogosian, Lakeith Stanfield, Judd Hirsch, Paloma Elsesser and The Weeknd all appear in the movie, which was directed by brothers Joshua and Benjamin Safdie.

Back in September, Uncut Gems achieved a 100 per cent rating on Rotten Tomatoes, a reviews aggregator.

The film’s rating has since fallen to 94 per cent, which is still notably high on the platform.
