Jake Gyllenhaal has revealed that Hugh Jackman was far less willing to take part in Tom Holland’s handstand video challenge than he was.

Gyllenhaal and Holland, who have maintained a strong friendship since working together on Spider-Man: Far From Home, sparked a social media frenzy after sharing videos of themselves trying to put on a t-shirt while doing a handstand.

Having been challenged by Holland, Gyllenhaal nominated his sister Maggie, Jackman and 50 Cent to take part themselves, but admitted while appearing on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert that he’d got a frosty reception back.

“Hugh Jackman and 50 Cent did not respond,” the 39-year-old explained.

“I emailed [Hugh] and was like, ‘Come on, man.’ He said, ‘I hope you’re well.’”

However, his sister did take up the challenge, with the actor begrudgingly admitting: “I’m a younger sibling, so I’m used to doing something and then my older sibling doing it 10 times as well.”

Along with Gyllenhaal, Holland also nominated Ryan Reynolds in the challenge, who declined by posting a video to his Instagram Story looking perplexed and saying “no”.

Admitting that he was originally going to give the same response, Gyllenhaal said: “I was gonna do the same thing until that morning when he already posted him saying no. Then I thought, ‘Oh well great, now I’m gonna have to try this.”
