Things began to look particularly promising earlier this year after Deadpool’s ginormous box-office success, grossing more than Batman v Superman domestically in the US.
Yet, true to their word, the villainous team-up film has been given a PG-13 rating, following in the footsteps of both Batman v Superman and Man of Steel.
“For an R movie, you have to decide to do it right out the gate, and that was never the case here,” Ayer said in April at CinemaCon according to Entertainment Weekly.
“We were always going to hit the PG-13 rating. But the film is meant to be that. It’s got edge, and it’s got attitude. And it’s got its own voice… There’s a lot in the film that’s going to surprise people.”
In other Suicide Squad news, Margot Robbie recently detailed her character’s ‘nuts’ relationship with Jared Leto’s Joker.
