From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

Getting money is such a huge and inextricable part of hip hop that it’s perhaps unsurprising that a follow-up to Straight Outta Compton is already being eyed.

That Dogg Pound member and opportunist Daz Dillinger (formerly known as Dat N***a Daz) has been Instagramming about a ‘Dogg Pound 4 Life’ movie that serves as a sequel of sorts to Straight Outta Compton for weeks now, and claims to TMZ today that it’s going ahead.

The story will apparently pick up where Straight Outta Compton left off, following the careers of Snoop Dogg, Kurupt, Daz and Warren G.

Dr Dre and Ice Cube won’t return to produce the movie, but Daz said Cube has given his stamp of approval for the project.

If this is the route they’re going down, there is a ton of rises, falls and feuds in hip-hop history that could end up getting the big screen treatment, and given Straight Outta Compton’s wild success at the box office it’s clear the audience is there.

“THE BEST FROM THE WEST MAN” Daz wrote on Instagram alongside a photo of him chilling with Snoop, “WWW.DPG4LIFE.COM THE MOVIE THA SAGA CONTINUEZ NWA” (though the URL has yet to direct to a real website.
