In rankings of both Steven Spielberg and Leonardo DiCaprio's filmographies, Catch Me If You Can is often underrated, a compelling, perfectly-paced and, above everything, thoroughly enjoyable film.

It's perhaps surprising that the director and actor have only worked together on this one occasion, but we could soon be seeing a new collaboration.

Deadline reports that the pair are in early talks to work together on a Ulysses S. Grant biopic at Lionsgate.

Grant, who made a brief appearance in Spielberg's Lincoln, led the Union Army to victory during the Civil War with the Confederacy, going on to serves two terms as President of the United States. Succeeding Andrew Jackson, he is credited with stabilising the economy and working to get rid of the last remnants of slavery, also tackling the Ku Klux Klan.

DiCaprio is of course no stranger to playing notable historic American figures, having previously played J. Edgar Hoover and Howard Hughes.

The actor's next project is another big one: starring opposite Brad Pitt in Quentin Tarantino's Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, which will also see him reunite with The Wolf of Wall Street co-star Margot Robbie.
