It's unclear whether Rian Johnson intends to reintroduce the character

Your support makes all the difference.Star Wars: The Last Jedi has been out for less than a week and has proved rather divisive with some praising it as one of the best franchise entries to date and others disliking the direction that director Rian Johnson has steered the series in.
The latter are going to have to get used to it, however, considering Johnson has been hired by Disney and Lucasfilm to oversee a brand new trilogy focused on a new group of characters, something potentially teased in the new sequel's closing moments.
*Spoilers ahead*
The Last Jedi's final scene sees the return of a young orphan child seen in a scene set on Canto Bright, the cameo-filled world full of creatures gambling away their savings. After reenacting a battle with Luke Skywalker versus the First Order, the child gets shooed away, grabbing a broom which he pretends is a lightsaber - using the force. What's more is the child is twiddling a resistance ring.
It's unclear whether this scene served to merely indicate that - in Johnson's own words - “the legend of Luke Skywalker is spreading” with “hope... reignited in the galaxy" or whether he intends to pick up with this same character in future films.
If he does, that character's name has now been revealed meaning fans better get used to it: Pablo Hidalgo's book The Last Jedi: The Visual Dictionary confirms he's called Temiri Blagg.
Speaking about Blagg, Johnson said: “I couldn’t think of a more evocative image of hope than a kid who is playing with his Luke Skywalker action figure and being inspired by that to grow up and have an adventure and fight the good fight.“
