But a Boba Fett reference did

Your support makes all the difference.Since the home release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, numerous pieces of information have hit the internet, mainly in thanks to beady-eyed fans.
One such tidbit is how some of the flags outside Maz Kanata’s castle have been removed since the first trailer hit the internet, deleting various references to the prequels.
As noted by a fan, one of the flags missing is a reference to Anakin Skywalker’s podracer in the prequels.
Whereas the Mandalorian symbol in the centre is still there - seemingly a reference to rival racer Sebulba- the blue emblem seen in The Phantom Menace is no longer present.
As noted by Uproxx, this isn’t the first prequel reference to be removed, as Hayden Christensen was supposed to appear in the film at one stage as a Force ghost.
Director JJ Abrams previously hinted at a reason for the removal of prequel references, as noted by The Rolling Stone: “Abrams, fresh from his speech about the importance of details, sits at the centre of the editing room.
“They begin by reviewing a shot shown in the trailer, where dozens of flags appear on a castle that belongs to Maz Kanata.
“The flags are designed to drive superfans nuts with references to the earlier movies, but Abrams tells Guyett that too many of them allude to the first of Lucas’ prequels: ‘I don’t want to be too about podracers,’ he says. ‘I’d rather come up with our stuff.’”
Sounds like Abrams was really trying hard not to remind us of Jar Jar (AKA Snoke). Meanwhile, at the time of writing it is Star Wars day (May the Fourth), with fans around the world celebrating.
