From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

With the release of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story fast approaching, many questions have arisen about the spin-off, including numerous ones regarding other possible Anthology films.

One such question recently raised concerned Boba Fett, with reports detailing how a Josh Trank-helmed spin-off was in the works, with LucasFilm even making a trailer for it.

Ewan McGregor has also been questioned multiple times about the possibility of an Obi-Wan Kenobi centred film, the actor having played the Jedi in the prequels.

However, while McGregor remains somewhat keen on the idea, there has been no official word on the character reappearing anytime soon.

Rumour has it, though, that LucasFilm and Disney are withholding Obi-Wan from a solo series in order to use the character in the main saga, i.e. Episode’s VIII and IX.

Collider explained how EW writer Anthony Breznican imploded as much on a podcast, citing him saying: “I have heard rumours that the one reason they haven’t moved sooner on Obi-Wan is that they’re not done with Obi-Wan quite yet in the saga films. So I wouldn’t be surprised to see an Obi-Wan [solo film] happen beyond Episode IX.”

McGregor previously voiced the Star Wars character briefly in The Force Awakens - the first part in the sequel saga - making the rumour not exactly farfetched.

Meanwhile, it was recently announced that there will be no Rogue Two following the release of Rogue One on the 15 December.
