Spider-Man to get animated makeover from The Lego Movie team
Everything is going to be awesome...

Spider-Man is getting an animated makeover courtesy of The Lego Movie team.
Writer-directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller will write and produce the new movie, announced by Sony Pictures chief Tom Rothman at Cinemacon in Las Vegas yesterday with the words "f**king awesome".
The award-winning duo are not yet signed up to direct the film, scheduled for release on 20 July 2018 after the upcoming live-action Spidey movie, made in collaboration with Marvel and due in cinemas for summer 2017.
Spider-Man will next be seen in a Marvel film after the studio struck a deal with Sony to share the character. Many fans expect the iconic web-slinger to make his debut in Captain America: Civil War in May 2017.
Neither Andrew Garfield nor Toby Maguire are believed to be playing the new Spider-Man, who Marvel president Kevin Feige recently described as "a 15 or 16-year-old Peter Parker".
Nat Wolff, Timothee Chalamet and Asa Butterfield are among the names being touted for the big role.
Spider-Man is Sony's most sucessful franchise ever, with five past films having grossed more than $4 billion worldwide.
