From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. Having debuted in Captain America: Civil War, Tom Holland’s incarnation of Spider-Man managed to bowl over many critics and fans alike, proving that the reboot may be worth it after all.

The next film the web-slinger is set to appear in is Spider-Man: Homecoming, the Marvel Studios feature length having just started filming.

Already, the first shots of Holland in his spandex suit have leaked online; it looks remarkably the same as the one previously seen in Civil War.

While it is unclear why he’s hanging out around a concrete pipe, the hero looks less polished than in Civil War, likely because the sheer amount of CGI used in the final film was phenomenal.

We also see the suited Peter Parker holding a smart-phone, proving that even fighting crime doesn’t stop you being addicted to technology.

Meanwhile, the cast for Homecoming has increased in size rather drastically recently, with Donald Glover, Kenneth Choi and Michael Keaton. Kingpin actor Vincent D’Onofrio has also spoken candidly about wanting to appear in the film but revealed that he has yet to be asked.
