From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The new trailer for Spider-Man: Far From Home comes with a warning from Peter Parker himself, Tom Holland. The actor tells viewers that the new glimpse of the sequel contains major spoilers for Avengers: Endgame, with the film serving a direct follow-up to the Marvel blockbuster.
Namely, it confirms what many fans had suspected: the snap (and presumably the subsequent time travel) has now created a multiverse, with Jake Gyllenhaal’s Mysterio arriving from a different version of Earth.
The trailer also sees Spider-Man mourning the death of Tony Stark AKA Iron Man, who sacrificed himself to save the day at the end of Endgame, while it also suggests that the film will see him take centre stage as one of the MCU’s biggest figures in the future.
“The world needs the next Iron Man,” Peter is heard saying in the trailer.
Michael Keaton, Jon Favreau, Zendaya, Marisa Tomei, Cobie Smulders, Samuel L Jackson, Jacob Batalon, Tony Revolori, Angourie Rice, and Hemky Madera all return for the film.
Spider-Man: Far From Home hits UK cinemas 3 July.
