The trailer for Spider-Man: Far From Home has just been released, giving a glimpse of the developments to come when the film hits cinemas in July.

The video, unveiled on Tuesday, gives a first answer to the question many Marvel fans have pondered since the release of Avengers: Infinity War: did Thanos really wipe out half of the galaxy, killing off several beloved MCU characters?

Based on the Far From Home trailer, the answer appears to be no.

Jake Gyllenhaal also makes his debut as Mysterio. Fans suspected Gyllenhaal would step in as the villain when it was announced he was joining the cast of Far From Home in October 2018 – a news confirmed by Gyllenhaal on his Instagram account in December.

Tom Holland, who plays Spider-Man, prompted speculation that the trailer would be released on Tuesday after tweeting on Monday: "So I spoke to Sony..."
